My Grandmother called me to catch up since I havent seen her since August. (Shameful I know) Here are some of the high points. 1) Alissa you sound right croupey, you ought to go get some of that Rock and Rye and take it for your cough. 2) I picked up some cherry wine for you in NC. (I had to have her explain that Rock and Rye is Jack Daniels and cherry wine is actually Cheerwine.) Did you know that cheery wine is made and bottled in Ashe County? It was started in Salsburg but bottled close to home. (As you can imagine when I thought she actually meant cherry wine I was really confused) 3) Then we went to a cheese factory and I got the neighbors some of that cheese they like. Did you know that some people eat that cheese with the rind on it. I dont think you can find it or cherry wine anywhere here. 4) Did you know that you can keep your fur coats in storage in Roanoke? (She does not own a fur coat.) I just dont understand how you wouldnt know that. Your aunt had to take a carload of old ladies from the church to Roanoke to pick up their fur coats there. 5) We went to Ruby Tuesdys ( she does not say TuesDAY) and I got to eat at the salad bar. I have been saving up all my coupons. I got the darker lettuce, cheese, croutons bacon bits, tomatoes,....... I just could not believe they took all those coupons. 6) What is that word Tara calls _____? Ive been trying to remember it all day. Me: Looney Tunes? grandma: YES! Thank you! 7) Me: well work had been good, busy Grandma: I cant talk right now something good is coming on tv. She is not loosing her mind or memory, in case you were wondering.
