My Guru gave a beautiful discourse recently on One People,One Planet. Noting the irony and tragedy that the very things people judge and kill each other for on this planet, are the thing that make this world so beautiful and diverse (religions, foods, music, culture, languages, clothing). With all the total insanity going on in Australia at the moment directed at Muslim people (and lets face it, anyone different to this western culture)... As a country we could definitely benefit from taking a moment of remembering and embracing the beauty of culture. In Melbourne alone, the very thing I love about this city would not exist if it were not for the many different people from other countries and cultures who live here that bring amazing food, music, art, ways of being, spirituality... It IS the blessings of Australia... not the curse. I remember singing that song in Primary school We are one, but we are many, and from all the lands on Earth we come. We share our dreams, and sing with one voice - I am, you are, we are Australian. There were no sub clauses in the lyrics - this is one of our countries anthems - lets live by it!
