No hope at all of recovery. My faith in SSDs is quite shaken. This sounds like a job for Warranty Repair! Call Lenovo. Lenovo: Oh, shit. That sucks. Well send you a new drive right away. Me: Grand! 2 business days later, a 320 GB 5400 RPM drive arrives. This is not my beautiful house. This is not my beautiful wife. December 22. Call Lenovo. Lenovo: Oh, shit. Can you send us your invoice so we can get your the right part? We will call you to confirm. Locate, send invoice to their mail-hole 5 minutes later. A day passes. Radio silence. Call Lenovo. Lenovo: Oh, shit. You have to wait two full business days for us to get to all the mail. Me: So, I likely wont hear from the previous fellow until after the holidays? Correct. Nuts. December 29. Radio silence. December 30. Radio silence. December 31. Call Lenovo. Lenovo: Oh, shit. Yeah, I guess that guy didnt call you back. Me: Well, yeah. I just want the correct drive for my laptop. Can you send me one? Its a 1 TB hybrid SSD drive. Sure thing! Can you confirm for me that you are sending me a 1TB hybrid SSD drive as a replacement? That is correct. 1TB SSD drive. Fun-tastic. New Year and weekend pass. Today, Jan 7. >NOK, NOK< Neighbor: IBM sent a package to my address, here you go. Me: Thanks pal. Open package. 320GB 5400rpm drive... stamped REFURBISHED. Call Lenovo. Lenovo: Oh, shit. Well, I can get that taken care of. Me: That, apparently, is what they all say. Enthusiasm isnt a substitute for competence. What? Nevermind. Im sending your new drive in 2 business days. Please confirm that you are sending a 1TB hybrid SSD drive. A Toshiba. Replacement, non-refurbished? 1TB SSD, yes sir. And now we see if this tale gets more ridiculous, in 2 days.
