My Letter Published in 2009 vs. Todays Star Parker Mind Set is the same! March 14, 2009 Letters to the Editor for Sunday, March 15, 2009 • Don’t let them control your mind As a result of greed and self-interest in the financial market meltdown, just maybe America’s poor will see how the rich and famous act when they are unable to provide for their families, and loved ones. Columnist Star Parker recently visited Valdosta State University with great fanfare. But soon her supporters may be forced to reconsider her words: “You will never get ahead by believing somebody’s going to redistribute enough money to pull you out of that hole of poverty, live within your own means without taxpayers dollars, Americans need more individual discipline, return to God’s absolutes, accept individual responsibility, be accountable for your own actions and stop looking for handouts, less government control over our lives, pull yourselves up by your own bootstraps, and heavy-handed government is not good for poor people.” Now let us look at the true, truth. Did the Bush Administration apply columnist Star Parker standards to the people of Iraq? As those she put to the American people during America’s financial meltdown. The answer is no. In fact, Mr. Bush used less than credible information to justify our invasion and occupation of Iraq resulting in thousands of deaths practically without opposition. While columnist Star Parker said little to nothing about less government control over the people of Iraq, or redistributing money from American taxpayers, to help pull the Iraqi people up by bootstraps purchased by the American people, or Iraqi citizens being responsible and accountable for their own freedom, or expecting somebody else (Handouts from America) to redistribute enough money to pull them up from a dead level to a living perpendicular. We the people must not allow columnist Star Parker along with the honorable Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, Pat Buchanan, and others to control our minds forever. These conservative few seem to be asking God to repent for making President Barack Obama imperfect, unlike President Reagan, Bush, Rush Limbaugh, the honorable Hannity of Fox News, and a few others who cannot find anything right with our 44th President. How sad? However we American people are waking up and refusing to be bushwhacked, hoodwinked, or bamboozled as in the past. God bless America.
