My MP emailed me to ask my views on UK intervention against ISIS in Iraq. I have sent her the following short email in reply: -------------- Im against the UK intervening militarily in Iraq (again!) on a couple of main grounds. First of all, regardless of how horrendous ISIS may be (and theres no doubt that they are) its really none of our business. Secondly, intervention is more likely to make us a target for terrorist attack than it is to make it less likely as David Cameron is claiming. If we could guarantee that no innocent parties would be killed or injured as a result of our intervention I might just about go along with it regardless of whether it makes the UK a target. The history of these interventions makes that unlikely in the extreme. I urge you to vote against UK intervention. -------------- If youre against the intervention then I seriously suggest you email your MP before tomorrows vote to let them know your views. Whether it will make any difference I really dont know but if we dont do it then it most certainly wont.
