My Mama, Nikole, was once incorrectly diagnosed as Functional Paranoid Schizophrenic. It was based on the facts that she could travel to and perform her job but not leave home by herself for anything else. She hid it well her whole life. Life didnt exist beyond her four walls. She was terrified of the world. She would go without food if no one went with her to the store; not get her mail (as that required a detour from the Bus Stop to her front door) to the point she received a notification from the Post Office and they suspended all delivery for over a year. She had people just think she was lazy or spoiled or could care less about these things when in reality she was petrified. Then I came along Her friends and not even her closest family know how debilitating this was for her her entire life! We dogs, from Service Canine to Pound Puppy, we change LIVES!
