My Mom was the first to teach me about Martin Luther King, Jr. - TopicsExpress

My Mom was the first to teach me about Martin Luther King, Jr. when I was very young. I guess that it wasnt until I got older that I truly realized how great of a man MLK was because I didnt really understand the darkness that he was up against. In a way this was a form of progress. Why? Because, I never saw other people as anything other than people. My Mom treated and responded to everyone kindly. My 2nd grade teacher was black (her hair was tinted purple) and I just loved her. I have people in my life that I love in all shades of color to this day. Love isnt a color and neither is hate. People are people and I think MLK would be happy to see that in many corners of the world (even if it is my own little corner) his dream has happened. May we focus on the goodness and come together on respect, dignity, and greatness others. https://youtube/watch?v=nTGNUWetWWU&feature=youtu.be
