My OR (Operating Room) Experience (I) The anesthesiologist after - TopicsExpress

My OR (Operating Room) Experience (I) The anesthesiologist after numbing the area around the vertebral spine with topical anesthesia (lidocaine) handed over to his student the needles and those frightening sharps you dont want to behold, let alone feel on your skin. His student began the journey of impressing the teacher, but all to no avail. After several failure on attempt of entering the spinal column to administer the general anesthesia, the teacher took over. With a single shot he entered and administered. The looks on the students face said Im an embarrased failure. She was physically present while the procedure went on, but she wasnt there. She avoided any facial contact with me after we left the OR because she was greatly embarrassed by her inability to do exactly as the teacher expected of her. Infact the shame was contagious because at a point I became guilty that I had to walk face down each time we bumped into one another. Often times, there are expectations we believe we have to meet in order to positively impress those around us. There are times our lack of confidence steals the knowledge we have gripped. There are times our over-confidence introduces nothing other than incompetence. It happens and at some point we may never miss them once they show face. It is humane to encounter shame, but divine to not let it master our impulse and plunge us deeper into misery. You may have been a victim of what Im sharing now or even may be combating it right now. Its ok! Feel all the shame there is that presents itself to you, but never forget that an unwelcomed/unentertained visitor gets frustrated and takes its leave. Your error, mistake, failure may have caused you more than is acceptable. You may have become so entangled by the cord of misery-filled/disappointment-rich outcome of your attempt to succeed. (I believe if the student was given an opportunity, she would scream and moan loud in the OR just to ease herself from the wicked emotional trauma eating her up). Your grip may have become so loose on the baton of triumph you thought you have owned that the only way out for you is to be sorrowful. Hear what the bible says Is any sorrowful? Let him pray! Have you spoken to the Superior Being (GOD) who is able to handle whatever? Your bent KNEES have the ability to lift off any embargo. Most importantly, have you pondered to know the lessons God is teaching you with such situation. Definitely, something is lacking that God need to put in you; what could it be? Think and break through! #SomeHolyKisses
