My Own Thoughts. My brother Ed was a cop. He retired in the early 60s. I was always believed that the cops were true heroes, always there to protect. But that was then, this is now. I think cops protect their own no matter how wrong they are and in doing so, they have brought on situations that might lead to more violence in the USA. Besides the limited use of guns, tazers should be their main weapon, video cameras on every cop should be a must and physiological testing every two years. If the police want to protect their own, then they should do all they can to implant a system of checks and balances to do so and in doing so they will not only protect their own, but protect the public from any kind of police abuse.
