My Republic day story at the Chennai airport .. A younger woman - TopicsExpress

My Republic day story at the Chennai airport .. A younger woman ( presumably NRI) with her Maasi constantly yakking loudly in a nasal American accent & running across to take pictures of the funny ladies frisking system in Chennai during the security check . Comes back to make jokes about the million strange things she sees & shoots in India & has even managed to send to sites to get published back in the US ( presumably ) ... All the while sounding condescending , bemused ... In all this , doesnt think twice about cutting a line or breaking a queue as I noticed while observing her this afternoon . So much for her superior civilised existence & manners .. Our Indian airports are incidentally much MUCH better than most in Europe to start with . I have only been to the NYC airport & San Francisco in the USA , so can comfortably say that our metro airports , even the domestic ones currently beat them too .. India is a young country . Been barely 68 years since it existed in its current form .. Any student of history will know that this a very very tiny number in the shaping of a nation . I dont want to sound jingoistic but am really really proud of being an Indian in many many ways . The fact that PK has become the biggest hits in Indian cinema bears testimony to the fact that as a culture we are committed to plurality & are more open minded in things that matter than most others .. Well , that & a million reasons why I love India & being Indian .Watching the Republic day parade just reminded me , as it mustve million others , just how diverse , crazy & unique we are as a nation & I am committed to stay here & make a difference . This is indeed my karma bhoomi . ❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶
