My Series..The Best of the Best Hollywoods Leading Men.. Mel Gibson. .By Paul Vetrano / Critic ... No Matter what anyone thinks about this man lately because of some of his outspoken comments and other personal family problems... He is still a dam good actor!!. Maybe an apology is in order?... i dont know im not here to judge peoples feelings about others.. thats up to Mel. This man has had a great career to say the least... and i have enjoyed just about every film he has ever been a part of. Even a dark little know film called Pay Back... very cool film. Lets take a look at Mel Gibson... who i just learned was Born in upstate new york!!! Mel Colm-Cille Gerard Gibson . (born January 3, 1956) is an amazing actor, film director, producer and screenwriter. He was born in Peekskill, New York, and moved with his parents to Sydney when he was 12 years old. He studied acting at the Australian National Institute of Dramatic Art. After appearing as an action hero during the 1980s, Gibson went on to found Icon Entertainment, a Production Company which independent film director Atom Egoyan has called, an alternative to the studio system. In 1995, Gibson produced, directed, and starred in the Academy Award-winning Braveheart. In 2004, he directed and produced The Passion of the Christ, a financially successful, controversial film depicting the last hours in the life of Jesus. He has stared in over 30 films... and has shined bright in both serious and Comedic roles. Gibson was born the sixth of eleven children, and the second son of Hutton Gibson and Irish-born Anne Patricia (née Reilly, died 1990). His paternal grandmother was opera contralto Eva Mylott (1875–1920), who was born in Australia, to Irish parents, while his paternal grandfather had English, Irish, Scottish, and Welsh ancestry.One of Gibsons younger brothers, Donal, is also an actor. Gibsons first name comes from Saint Mel, fifth-century Irish saint, and founder of Gibsons mothers native diocese, Ardagh, while his second name, Colm-Cille, is also shared by an Irish saint and is the name of the parish in County Longford where Gibsons mother was born and raised. Because of his mother, Gibson holds dual Irish and American citizenship.WOW!! ... he has my vote... for the Best of the Best!. ** FYI, As a New York / Hollywood Critic I rarely give negative reviews on face book or show unflattering photos of people in my stories posted here. I never bash or Trash unless the actor or the studio has presented an embarrassment to the industry.
