My Spiritual journey began the very next day we arrived in India. It has been a burning desire to perform the divine Sita-Rama Kalyanam (wedding) in the Holy Temple Bhadrachalam. En-route was beautiful and picturesque weaning away the stress caused by mundane stressful work routine and the long flight from Washington, DC. We arrived at Bhadrachalam in a Taxi and went straight to AP Tourism Hotel accompanied by Vittals sister and nephew. There were only two AC Deluxe rooms suitable for our stay. I was all excited to be there, went straight to bed with my thoughts reeling about Rama and the Coy and kind looks of Sita in my eyes, my lips involuntarily chanting hey SiaRam drifting into my sleep but my thoughts still on divine Sita and Rama. I was all dressed traditional and grand to look my best not to be an eye sore for Sita. We made the first Darshan in the morning without any crowds. people were kind enough to let me be in the sanctum sanctorum to my hearts content, really dont know how long while my family waited outside patiently. The temple employees announced that the first Darshan is over and have to clean the Sanctum Sanctorum for the next darshan. While the crew began sweeping the common area for devotees for the darshan, the priest began to clean the Sanctum Santorum. In a low and soft voice, I requested the priest if I could be blessed with the seva of cleaning the sanctum Sanctorum. Stunned by my request, he politely said Apacharam. My tears immediately started flowing and just then an elderly priest walked in and stroked my head and handed the broom with a smile. It suddenly felt like Rama granting my wish. I tucked my saree pleats in my waist and touched the feet of Rama and Sita. Gently removed the flowers offered on their feet as if to see the beauty of those lotus feet. Just then the tears that were flowing fell on the feet of Rama. Gathered all the flowers and other offerings in my saree pallu and swept the Sactum Sactorum as if it were my last breathe on earth. As I walked out in trans, people gathered around me in dismay asking how did you do that? It was almost time for kalyanam or wedding ceremony to start, a priest hurried me back into the temple and handed me the Silk Clothes that were to be offered to god, to bring to the place the ceremony was to take place. Considering myself fortunate I humbly received the tray with clothes and walked with other priests to the ceremony hall. Not knowing what to expect, we sat there, just then when another priest handed me and Vittal some fruits and the green coconuts and the regular coconuts. to offer during the Kanyadaan. As they were reading the Pravara of Rama, we were totally surprised that Vittal and I have the same family Pravara. The next 3 hours was a bliss. We partook the prasad and had another Darshan of Sita-Rama and we headed back with divine feeling and memories to last a life time.
