My Sunday Soliloquy... The Good, The Bad, The Ugly: The Tale of - TopicsExpress

My Sunday Soliloquy... The Good, The Bad, The Ugly: The Tale of the First Round My Team had 3 Fights this weekend. All 3 Fights were stopped in the 1st round, all 3 had different results. The Good... Marc Talledo is back in the winners column. Marc is one of my original members to the Team. He is also one of the most dedicated and hardworking. Unfortunately his record as a fighter doesnt give his effort credit. Marc began his amateur fight career going 0-4. A couple of lackluster performances, a couple of decision that couldve gone either way. But he never gave up, kept training everyday and last night stopped his opponent in the first round. While his record doesnt indicate it, he is a stud. Super proud of his commitment and performance, The Bad... Ive already posted this but Jose Ernesto Palacios was looking like a world beater until he got caught with a sneaky elbow in the first round and the fight was stopped. Do I agree with the stoppage? Yes the cut was pretty bad, Im not sure how I feel about it though. I love Muay Thai and Elbows are apart of the game but it also took away from what couldve been an amazing Fight. If that cut had happened in the third round it wouldve been easier to live with. At least the crowd wouldve gotten their moneys worth. Props to Joses opponent, we are looking forward to a rematch. And the Ugly... Sonny Singh Sandhus fight resulted in a No Contest in the 1st round from an incidental knee to the head which resulted in a KO. In amateur Muay Thai knees to the head are not allowed but we are always told in prefight meetings that if you duck into a knee and are hurt that is your own fault and you lose if you cannot continue. Well from all accounts that is exactly What Happeeened last night. The Ref even called it that way but the IKF official ringside overturned the call, which I didnt know you could even do to a Refs judgement call. Out the hundreds of Fights Ive cornered and numerous bad decisions and robberies that Ive had to deal with Ive only ever appealed 1 Fight. Once I review the video and it shows the opponent ducking into a knee I will appeal it for sure. Overturning the Referees call does not sit well with me. Stay tuned! Its the Fight Game folks. You love it and you hate it. Nothing is given and nothing is guaranteed. It aint over Mofos!!! #whatsyourlimit?!
