18 years ago, one of my friends friend a malay after STPM was applying for uni, with 2 or 3A if i can recall.. he so wanted to apply for a subject he so fond of.. then he got UPM.. those really still uni pertanian mah.. given him some algriculture thingy specialize in menternak lembu.. he threw the offer letter away and go to college and study some mainstream crap which buried his dream.. Another guy name Jason which is damn kau genius which work part time in bank that time.. slightly geek but later i got to know he is top no. 1 student in maxwell school.. even the number 2 is far from smarter than him.. so i said if u scored all A1 i belanja u the ship.. and he did! And surely a big chunk of my salary went to the ship.. but i am very happy for him! I still remember he told me his father a government servant said the father very worried he might not excel in study.. and later he worried he become to smart lah.. coz he got no money to finance his uni. Jason wanted to be a doctor.. he think about it day and night. Then the day came for him to apply uni.. even the school board also help him, the school is very proud of him.. he came to the bank with a piles of cert and all those activities he joined certs as long as the toilets roll.. wow! I remember he was so thrill! That kinda enthusiasm that is so contagious that u feel happy for someone. Well, eventually he left bank and we lost contact. So one find days, we bumped into each other at McD MV.. it was good until I ask him about what he is doing now.. that was suddenly sadness in him.. he became an engineer then he told me in that mellow look i was not offer the doctor.. there were some silent pause between us... malaysia boleh of course!
