My Testimony Sometime in March 2012, I went to my eye doctor for a proper eye check. A couple of days before, I had irritation and redness in both eyes. I concluded that my glass lens was weak and could aid my eyes no longer. At that time, I was exposed to much electronic reading (Browsing). After he had examined my eyes, he told me that the back of my eyes were not looking good. He then referred me to one of the best eye clinics in Abuja (name withheld) for further examination. The few days I waited before my appointment were not palatable at all. My spirit was troubled. Seconds crept into minutes and minutes were so reluctant to get to the hours. Days moved casually and nights seemed so long. I couldn’t wait to hear how far my eyes had misbehaved. To cut the story short, I went for my appointment, made myself available for all manner of eye examinations, including the field test. The doctors concluded that I had GLAUCOMA. In fact, I became a lab rat for the young doctors and IT students to update their experiences. ‘’THIS IS A CLASSICAL CASE OF GLAUCOMA’’ the doctors taught them. They prescribed an eye drop (TRAVATAN) for me with a sound warning that I should use it every night for the rest of my life or I would go blind. I became a slave to this drug which I was spending N7000 to procure and was discarding four weeks after opening each. Dear brothers and sisters, my sweet and miraculous God decided to sort me out a year after I resumed the treatment. In April this year, we travelled to America for our family holiday. As we were rounding up our three week stay in New York, my God giving husband decided that we do one week more in England. That moment was the time my healing was signed in heaven. The devil and its agents were completely disarmed. Two days to the end of our holiday, I decided to have a second opinion on the issue at stake. I went to Moorefield eye clinic in London where I was told to discontinue the eye drop I had used for one year. The ophthalmologist after examining my eyes told me that the back of my eyes were good. However, I was given another appointment last month (September) for more rigorous eye examinations. I called on the God of my life to perfect the good work he had started. THE GOOD NEWS: I travelled to England last month for my appointment and was declared GLAUCOMA FREE after series of tests. I have not used any eye drop since April and my eyes that were perpetually troubled even while I was using the drops have been at peace. My God delivered me out of the goodness of his constant love. I love you my God. PRAISE THE LORD…. WHAT IS GLAUCOMA? Glaucoma is a condition that causes damage to your eye’s optic nerve and gets worse over time. It’s often associated with a buildup of pressure inside the eye. Glaucoma tends to be inherited and may show up later in life. The increased pressure, called intraocular pressure, can damage the optic nerve, which transmit images to the brain. If damage to the optic nerve from high eye pressure continues, glaucoma will cause permanent loss of vision. Most people with glaucoma have no early symptoms or pain.
