My all time favorite .. hot hot hot Chilli Paneer .. for weekend special dinner .. Recipe as follows : Ingredients : 1 cup Paneer ( cottage cheese) cubes , 1/2 green bell pepper cubed , 1/2 red onion cubed & slices seperated , 4-5 garlic cloves finely chopped , 1/2 inch ginger piece finely chopped , 3-4 spring onions ( white portions and greens both are chopped but kept seperately) , 2-3 green chillies sliced into halves ( I didnt have green chillies so added red instead ), 2tbsp soya sauce , 1 tbsp red chilli sauce , 1 tsp white vinegar, salt to taste , 1 tsp white pepper powder , 2 tsp corn flour , 1/2 cup water & 1 tbsp oil. Method : Put paneer cubes in salted warm water for 30 mins before using it makes them soft . Always remember one point while making chinese ... cook on high flame ... full heat I mean ... low flame will make veggies soggy and can spoil the authentic chinese taste of dish. Take a wok, add oil, after 1 min add chopped ginger and garlic . Just after few seconds add onions , green peppers , whites of spring onion and green chillies. Give all of above a toss on high heat , then add soya sauce , chilli sauce , vinegar , white pepper and salt . Dont forget even soya sauce has little salt .. so do keep in mind that fact while adding salt. Now saute and add paneer cubes , just give all of above a mix and add water . Meanwhile take 2 tbsp hot water and mix corn flour in it . As soon as the gravy starts boiling add the corn flour mixture in it . In a min or two gravy will start to thicken, just keep stirring and remove it from heat . Serve it in a bowl and garnish with greens of chopped spring onion .
