My apologies to our veterans and their families. I’m embarrassed by the stories concerning the lack of care provided to you and your family members. While the stories are difficult to hear and believe, as Americans we have an obligation to listen and respond. We stand with you, cry with you, grieve with you, and share your outrage. You have demonstrated courageous sacrifice for us. It’s payback time. Time for us to return the favor in our own courage to demand your care first, and then to demand the truth so the system works like you deserve it to work. For a government that has no problem spending beyond its means, this is one area that has earned an open tab. The message will surely get watered down to political banter and rhetoric, yellow journalistic coverage, and a pale comparison to the actual truth. The source of the pale, yellow wateriness that showers you needs a catheter.
