My assessment of the Suraya-class, Risian Luxury Cruiser. Overall, - TopicsExpress

My assessment of the Suraya-class, Risian Luxury Cruiser. Overall, this ship is quite good- and was worth grinding the summer event for. STO Wiki lists her as a Special/Cruiser type with 41,400 for hull points. An impressive 4 weapon slots fore and aft, given like the last years Risa Corvette she handles very nicely for her size. The Wiki gives the following writeup on the Suraya: A ship with a good mix of hitting power, agility and toughness, the Risian Luxury Cruiser can do well in a variety of roles. High hull strength, a large crew and 5 Engineering consoles give it great potential tanking ability should the player be seeking a tank . However, of note is its Turn Rate of 10 and Inertia Rating of 40 - excellent for such a large vessel and reminiscent of Klingon Battle Cruisers. With 5 Engineering console slots, it is easy to slot in RCS Accelerator consoles to make the ship even faster. A Lt.Commander Tactical Bridge Officer rounds out the ships package, giving good hitting power for a Cruiser. Notably, unlike many recent Cross-faction Cruiser-type ships, the Luxury Cruiser cannot take Dual Cannons/Dual Heavy Cannons. Personally, given that it has so many strengths, I was not really expecting it to mount cannons, and in my view its not really disappointing. You could set the Suraya up as an array beam boat, but my initial loadout as a torpedo boat concentrates on transphasics farmed from the Breen mission arc, and Im happy to report the Jita can nicely slug it out with a continuous torpedo bombardment. I still want to run a Borg invasion with her, but Ive had good performance in the Undine section of the Solanae Sphere.
