My awesome wife, Jennifer McLean wrote this beautiful update yesterday. Im so proud of her strength and faith through this journey... MAGGIE UPDATE 9/24/14: For those of you who have been following our story, you know that Alex McLean is usually the writer in our family. But, this morning I just felt the urge to share. First of all I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming prayers and support. If you have been following Alexs updates I hope he has expressed how truly grateful we are to everyone who has walked this journey, and continues to walk this journey with us. The past few weeks have no doubt been rough. Since bringing Maggie home many emotions have surfaced, and I at times find myself an emotional wreck. I have made my workout time kind of like a release for me. Normally while I workout on the treadmill I listen to worship music, listen to a message I missed from Rancho, or listen to a podcast. Since being home with Maggie my workout times have been the times I let it all out. As I listen to worship music, or messages I usually ball my eyes out. My heart still aches and my mind gets clouded with memories, and the what ifs. Today as I worked out I listened to Ryan Beaver s message from 9/07/14. I encourage you to listen to it when you get a chance. It spoke directly to my heart. I dont know how to encapsulate the message, other than to say God is good all the time, and I believe. Right after the message my Pandora turned back on, and the song that came on was Forever Reign. On Saturday morning 8/30/14, after the hardest 2 days of my life, as I walked to the hospital from the Ronald McDonald House, this song came on my Pandora station. It was my prayer. I could not sing it, or even mumble the lyrics all I could do is weep, but I knew God heard my cries and held every tear in His hand. Since that morning, just about every time I turn on my Pandora station this song comes on. Its almost like this song has been my refuge for the past few weeks.
