My biggest problem with reducing or closing the season on bluefin tuna is that none of the data used by the advocates rattling the cage for change is more recent than 2012. Since they mostly use catch data to predict population, the catch data from this year and last year would indicate a rapidly growing population. Look at the chart with the story and see what has happened to bluefin numbers during previous low periods: rapid recovery.
