My brother Danny was telling me about something he read recently from Tai Lopez: You always get exactly what you deserve. I loved this insight. At first this sounds harsh because we usually add a negative connotation to it. We *assume* that it means we are being punished for something when we get what we deserve. In other words, theres some kind of karmic retribution for acting poorly. I dont take it that way, and thats not how Tai meant it either. Instead, its a simple statement to explain that the thoughts, intentions and actions we adopt (whether positive, negative, good, bad, right or wrong, etc--most of which are completely subjective BTW) lead us directly to some kind of outcome. Our thoughts, intention and actions matter. And they lead to results. Those results can be perceived as favorable or not. But the reality is that everything we say and do has impact. And so, in that way, we are always working toward exactly what we deserve. Theres no judgment or negative connotation, just a direct cause-effect relationship. I love this because its empowering! It reminds me that even the smallest actions matter. It reminds me that the words I tell myself in every single moment matter. And it reminds me that I dont need to have it all figured out right this second; I can always be a work in progress. And my choices lead me to the outcome I deserve. Me? I choose to work to get better
