My buddy Dave Kealey flew a Chinook in Viet Nam. My buddy, Ron Kostrzeski was in Nam too. I sure appreciate our service men and women, although like me, they may not have understood why we were there. Maybe they were drafted, or maybe they served voluntarily - I dont know. This week on my city bus route I picked up a vet at the V.A. hospital. He had a blanket around his shoulders. We got to the end of the line where we had a 10 minute layover, and he asked if he could step outside to smoke (his half) of a cigarette. I offered him a whole cigarette and we talked for a few minutes. After questioning him, I learned he flew helicopters in Viet Nam. I dropped him off at the homeless shelter.
