My butt was dragging late this afternoon as I was heading back towards town from the dump. They are repaving Springs Fireplace Road and the PSEG crews are everywhere so there were lots of spots where you had to wait. I was going down Accabonac Road and at the intersection with Collins Avenue (near IGA) another PSEG crew had two big trucks on the side of the road. There was one guy with the slow/stop sign but the trucks were so big you still couldnt see around them so they had another guy on the other side of the street to keep an eye out and tell you when it was ok to go around the trucks. The guy with the sign had the stop side showing so I waited and then when it was ok to go, the guy on the other side of the road, a very large man, doffed his hard hat, and bowed and gestured with his arm, like an old fashioned after you gentlemans move. I was so tickled and we both laughed when I drove by. How nice to have such a friendly attitude after being on your feet all day long; it couldnt have been easy for him, he was very big so Im sure he was uncomfortable as the day went on. Chivalry is not dead :)
