My child is being refused discharge from the hospital without - TopicsExpress

My child is being refused discharge from the hospital without grounds. There is no medical necessity for him to remain under their care yet they still hold him hostage nonetheless. He was born with a slight breathing issue which has now been resolved. We are grateful for their medical intervention when it was needed. The medical staff is force feeding him and are refusing his release until such time he can consume what they deem is necessary and only permitting bottle feeds. This is not their decision to make. As with every individual person on this earth we all eat and grow differently. They are overstepping their position and are illegally detaining my son against our will. My wife (his mother) is fully capable of breastfeeding him and is met with resistance at every turn. This kind of treatment of families cannot be allowed to continue. They have bullied my wife into allowing the bottle feeds and have made her feel inadequate as a mother and caregiver. They are threatening her with detainment if she chooses to leave with our son. They are threatening to keep a mother away from her son. They have no grounds and they have no right. They performed their duties in caring for him when there was need but now must release care to the mother and our pediatrician as medical necessity has become nullified. I seek any and all assistance in this matter. These medical professionals are behaving unprofessionally and all hospitals need to be made aware that they have no legal right to detain healthy individuals. We have rights as patients and my sons rights are being abused and taken for granted. He has the right to his mother and father. He cannot be properly cared for in the hospital. He needs to be granted release to his mothers arms where he belongs. This is unfair treatment and needs to end. They are leaving us with the impression that it all boils down to money. They want to be paid for his care instead of the free care of his mother. They wish to keep him there for the longest possible amount of time even after the absence of medical necessity. They are forcing bottle feeds which are inadequate for children. They are bullying parents away from breastfeeding by merely preventing its possibility. These tactics violate so many human rights that it is not even funny.
