My children deserve extracurricular activities in adequate - TopicsExpress

My children deserve extracurricular activities in adequate facilities. They deserve parks that are not mostly loose dirt, broken glass and dangerous structures. They deserve not to be judged by the length of their skirts. I deserve to walk into any store in my neighborhood and not wonder if what I am wearing is acceptably modest. We deserve to have our streets cleaned, our garbage collected and our homes secured. We deserve libraries. My husband deserves to commute to work via roads that suffice the number of commuters and are safe. We deserve not to have to fight the municipality to shade and clean city-run day care centers. We deserve commercial centers that do not operate on the basis of fundamentalist religious doctrine. We deserve post offices, and health clinics, and government departments that serve the population. We deserve to be protected under the law, and not live in fear of home invasions, drunken hoodlums, aggressive ultra-Orthodox whack jobs and reckless drivers. We deserve to vote in municipal elections and believe that our votes count. I cry for my city of Beit Shemesh......
