My church sign calendar today says: Human spirit fails unless the Holy Spirit fills. We just discussed this point at church this past Sunday, as Christians it is hard to imagine going through life without the support of God in the Holy Spirit and the hope & promise of eternal life in Heaven. I do wonder how many actually make it through their entire life without believing in God? I would think if someone has the opportunity to prepare for their date of departure this might make them change their mind on this issue. The same might happen if they are confronted with a serious illness, a very close call incident, or a situation that causes them to experience an overwhelming sense of grief. Most Born again Christians (which can include Christians that thought they were strong in their faith all the while), usually have that God moment that found themselves at a point where they could no longer handle lifes situations (no matter what the challenges might be), and they have to give it all up to the Lord in humble desperation. Never realizing until that moment just how heavy the burdens were that they have been carrying. That creates such a powerful moment and relief that ones faith in God becomes sealed in their heart forever. It is at that moment that the Holy Spirit fills you to overflowing with the power of God. God says: John 14:15-17 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”— these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 1 Corinthians 2:14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. So the Holy Spirit is the power of God that comes to us and fills our very sole and gives us sight through Gods eyes perspective. As you can see so much of lifes experience is lost along with the hope that comes from Gods promise of eternal life with Him, when we are not filled with the Holy Spirit.
