My closet is Lupus. There’s no instruction manual on how to deal with life after being diagnosed with a chronic illness. Actually, there is no instruction manual for life… period. Life is hard with a chronic illness. Life is hard without one. “Hard is not relative... Hard is just hard.” No comparisons. I’m tired of people comparing their “down” moments to try and out number each other on how much they think their lives suck. Stop. Your life is beautiful. You are beautiful. You are alive. Live. Stop with the negativity, the complaining, allowing your pains to control you. We can take whatever life throws at us and make a choice… to either dwell on how bad it sucks and how unfair it is… or take it and make something great out of it. Some days will be bad… just know that positive thoughts are contagious and they grow quicker than wildfire… accept the hard and face it head on just don’t let it engulf you. Listen to music. Paint. Go for a run. Cook something. Hike. Read a book. Take a nap. Surround yourself with the things and people that make you happy and feel loved.
