My dad, Lewis John DAmico. Passed away last night. He went quickly which Im thankful for. I didnt grow up with my dad, he and my mother split when I was very little. I resented him for so long after my mother died for his actions when he was around. I moved in with him in New Orleans at 17 for a brief time, as long as I could stand to be around him. It took a few years but I decided that a life without a relationship with him was not what I wanted. It was a huge life lesson. Im so glad I had what time he had left. It taught me a lot about myself and others. I pray often that God will heal my heart in every way and that I can truly forgive those who Ive felt have wronged me in any way. In return I can only ask that those I have wronged forgive me. I sincerely apologize to each and every one of you. I will hang on to only the good memories and stories my father shared with me. God rest his soul. . I pray for peace for his wonderful wife, Elaine who took such good care of him. Lord, please grant Elaine peace and comfort knowing that my dad is beside you and not in pain, waiting for her arrival.
