My dad, Shripad Nadkarni was a good administrator, a highly disciplined man, with hard work reached higher ranks, voracious reader, had to face many hardships in his younger days. He inculcated discipline, perseverance and values in me. I miss my dad today as 23 years back on this same day i.e. on 29th Sept 1991, he passed away, leaving a big void in my life. He was awarded a President of Indias silver medal for his meritorious service while working as chief census officer, Pune city in 1971.
