My dad had Dobermans when I was younger. The male was ALWAYS very territorial when our female was in heat. We kept them separated, but on occasion he would get lose. I wouldnt go near him. A tragic and ignorant situation for this family. EDUCATE yourselves. Its not the breed, its an animal with uneducated owners. With proper education and responsibility, this dog would NOT have been bred, and this child would still be alive. My heart breaks for this family.
