My dad too, slipped and fell down a whole flight of stairs one night with a glass in his hand... cut his arm from wrist to elbow badly, just missed all his major arteries. My mom begged and pleaded to call an ambulance, no, as her sink filled up halfway with his blood. They wrapped him arm, and he calmly asked her to call Wakefield taxi service in the Bx, as he got a cup of coffee and cigarette...no sooner had my mom called them and hung up the phone, they were there, as my dad didnt drive at the time, so he used this taxi service. He then went to ER, had to have 60 stitches both inside and out on his arm,,,,, didnt get home till wee hours of the morning... still went to Manhattan to his restaurant at 6 am, all screwed up and such, worked the whole day, never complained either. Don t you know that a couple of days later, something was wrong, stitches too tight, had to go back and get re-stitched all over again, yet, never heard him complain, and he still went to work, a fighter, losing breed today, always will be a fighter like him until my dying breath. I so love and miss him too, was the wisest man one could ever know.
