My dad was part of this. He went on to help liberate the camps. I grew up as a second generation daughter of a man who had seen the effects of the Holocaust up close.I came of age during the Viet Nam war. Ive been an anti-war activist ever since. I am now serving in Israel and Palestine seeing the effects of another kind of ethnic cleansing. It is more than a conflict. It is not a war because one side only has stones. Every day I ask God what do you want from me? What can I do here to stop this occupation? Be present, dont close your eyes or your heart. Accompany those resisting. Be a source of comfort, strength, compassion when they are weary. And most important remember this too will end. Do you believe in the resurrection or do you just preach about it? Dont limit Me. Have Hope. Generate hope. Be hope as wide as your smile.
