My dad was the greatest soul winner I have ever known. It didn’t matter if someone was a close friend or someone he barely knew or even someone that others considered to be a lost cause…if they were facing eternity my dad was there. Hector Forney, George McCullough, Al Porter, Delmar Densmore, Bill and Blanch, Gene Price...just to name a few. I saw my dad lead his brothers to the Lord. When my uncle Harold got cancer dad drove to Canton, three hours away, Just to talk to him about his soul. When he called two days later wanting to be sure he was saved dad got in the car and drove back to Canton again. I made trips with my dad to visit my uncle Benny and my uncle Jimmy and I stood at his side as he witnessed to them and prayed with them the prayer of salvation. My uncle Floyd live in Utah and had spent much of his life in ministry but I still remember long telelphone conversations and letters with my dad wanting to make sure that everything was good between him and God. I watched my dad kneel next to my uncle Nelson at the altar of the church with tears dripping from their faces praying with him to be saved. Dad is in Heaven now...but it brings a smile to my face when I think of all of the people who are there with him simply because he cared enough to be a witness to them. Yes...Dad was the greatest soul winner I have ever known. Happy Father’s Day dad!
