My daughter Sierra Noel Burke challenged me to name 10 books off - TopicsExpress

My daughter Sierra Noel Burke challenged me to name 10 books off the top of my head that have stayed with me over the years. Wow! Where do I start? These are the first that come to mind but I am sure I could think of many more. I now challenge Roxanne Pittman and Barb Armstrong! 1. Nicholas and Alexandra by Robert K. Massie 2. The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas 3. The Stand by Stephen King 4. Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery 5. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott 6. Anthem by Ayn Rand 7. A Guide to Rational Living by Albert Ellis 8. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hussein 9. Dr. Seusss Sleep Book and most of his other works 10. Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell I could go on and on. I agree with Sierra that its the books you read when you are younger that stay with you forever. I started reading at a very young age and never stopped. I picked up my moms copy of Anthem by Ayn Rand when I was very young, probably six or seven. I read everything I could get my hands on and when I had read all of the fiction books (well, probably not all) in my elementary school library, I moved onto the non-fiction. I think I read every autobiography in the library. I remember my parents giving me books for my birthday and Christmas and I cherished them. Anne of Green Gables and a book called Mr. god, This is Anna are two I remember best, and of course many Nancy Drew mysteries. Books have taken me many places and taught me many things!
