My daughters have some good memories! About 20 years ago I called them on April 1st and told them I had been given 5 front row tickets to see Kris Kros, who at the time was the number one group in their lives. Needless to say they were estactic! They said things like they had go get their hair done, they needed new outfits, and they had to figure out who they were going to invite to go along. I hung up and they started making a list to decide who would be lucky enough to go along. Then I called them back and said something like...I need to find out the exact date, now what is todays date? Thats when they realized it was the infamous April Fools Day! I know it was cold blooded... but it was funny! So, fast forward to yesterday when Mimi informs me that as the wig creator for Raisin In The Sun starring Denzel Washington, she was given 5 tickets to opening night and she is sending me an airline ticket so Nia and I can attend. Then Nia suggest that I call my cousin in the ATL to see if she can join us. I called her and she said she would quickly think it over (since opening night is Thursday) and get back to me. She subsequently began to look for airline tickets to New York when we hung up. Then Nia tells me thst Mimi has a friend in Chicago who owns a boutique that rents designer dresses and if we are there by 7pm we can pick out something to wear. Nia says shes going to change her clothes so we can go, I tell her to go do it cause its after 5 and Im ready to go now! A few minutes later she returns and gives me the phone saying Mimi wants to talk to me. Mimi says to me, when you all get here do you think we can go to a Kris Kross concert!?!? OMG! They got me with my OWN April Fools Joke! 20 years later! All I could do was laugh...cause even though it was turned around on me.... it was still a hilarious April Fools Joke!!
