My day and the life of living with severely traumatized - TopicsExpress

My day and the life of living with severely traumatized children..... Woke up 7:45 AM took my doggies out and breathed in the nice cool Arizona Air. Swatted some flies and killed some ants. Today is going to be a good day. Children start to wake up oldest RAD-12 wakes up wanting praises for not wetting his bed. We have a mini celebration. The other children follow in waking up saying good morning and stretching about. FS-7 wakes and we celebrate his dry night as well. I think heck yah, no dog pee on the floor no bedding to change. Today is going to be a great day. As soon as I have a celebration in my head, it starts... RAD-12 starting fights with the other 3 children. Not allowing the other children to get their own breakfast, name calling, screaming at the top of his lungs, slamming doors as I ask him to go to his room. On the way to his room, he makes sure all the pictures on the wall are now off. Its cool though I have learned with picture frames. All mine have no glass in them because of previous incidents. If you ever been to Disneyland haunted mansion and you see the pictures they have on the wall. That is what my house looks like. No Joke. Some day I will post a picture for you. I tell you this not to feel sorry for my family but to bring awareness to what families go through who are trying their hardest to heal these children that have been abused and neglected bio their biological families. It is up to the adoptive families to heal these children and show them how to self regulate. You may think you normal bio child does this too. And they do too but is it every hour of every day? It is not poor parenting, because we have had ever professional evaluate us and the result is complex childhood trauma
