My day off so I solo hiked the aptly named Spring Creek Trail via the Middle Columbine Trail in North Cheyenne Canyon. It was a fairly easy trail except for a rapid, steep ascent, and lots of gravel, which slows things down. The Spring Creek Trail ended in front of one of the tunnels on Gold Camp Road. Wildlife alert: Saw lots of lizards on my way back. Spring Creek is nothing more than the run-off of a tiny spring. Of course, even in that tiny little amount of water, I successfully accomplished the obligatory dunk.
