My dear Tribal Family, I realize we were repeatedly reminded of personal responsibility regarding what we brought with us to the ranch. With a humble heart, I must share a story of an item I left behind. I only realized yesterday it was missing. At BTR, I shared my car with two other friends. Only last night, I began cleaning my camping and running gear. Ive agonized on whether I should reach out, with the hopes of having my hydration pack returned. Because my plea may appear that I am attached to a specific material possession. And, the Mas Locos who have known me, realize Ive left this pack behind at other events. When I am close to finishing a race, I often love running free with celebration, and set aside my pack. Yet, she My Green Wink, always finds her way home. On July 9, 2009, when I first met Micah True, he presented me with two lovely gifts: A book of Poetry from Pablo Neruda, and an Ultimate Direction, Hydration, Wink, pack. I was overwhelmed, because I immediately realized Micah was both tender, and generous. Especially when he said, Ive NEVER spent this much $$$ for a first date! I proudly ran with Micah, wearing this pack in every Ultra, and adventure throughout the world! One weekend, I used it only to pack P.F. Changs food, as we scaled the majestic Rockies, and drank waters from the flowing streams. In March of 2012, I wore Wink with me as we searched for Micah in the Gila. I placed inside his favorite food, cap, and fleece wear, in hopes of providing comfort. I speak openly from my heart, and share this story to let you know, that if Wink belongs to another, please appreciate the beauty she brings, and the memory of the gift I left behind. Ive lost her before. And, perhaps its a message, that shes needed elsewhere to provide support for different adventures. Yes, I accept the fact that Its my own damn fault. I experienced one of the most magical, celebratory, beautiful weeks with my cherished family in California! If anyone finds her, send me a pm.
