My dear friend, Jaye Martin, has worked all day on the obituary for Johnny . It will be in the Monday edition of the Houston, Chronicle. Since so many dont read the newspaper, I thought maybe my Facebook friends will help me spread the word. John (Johnny) Talton Lewis, 74, of Houston, TX went home to be with the Lord June 27, 2014. He was born to Grady and Eula Mae Lewis on July 24, 1939 in Newcastle, TX. Johnny graduated from Spring Branch High School in 1957 and married Carole Harper Lewis, his high school sweetheart, on June 26, 1959. They celebrated their 55th anniversary the day before he died. Johnny was a wonderful coach, awesome cook, loved music and enjoyed his home on Galveston Bay. His greatest love was spending time with family. He was a member of Houstons First Baptist Church. Johnny was preceded in death by parents, daughter Shari Symank. He is survived by wife Carole; brothers Weldon (Linda), Jerry (Teresa) and Mike; children Lisa Cramer (Kent), John (Lisa), son-in-law Jeff (Kathryn); grandchildren Cara (Michael), Carl, Christen (Andy), Katherine (Keith), Tal, Amanda, Hunter and Harper; and great grandchildren Luke, Kate and Peyton. In lieu of flowers, send donations and condolences to First Place 4 Health fp4h or 7025 West Tidwell, Suite H-101, Houston, TX 77092. The memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 1 at 10 am in the Worship Center of Houstons First Baptist Church, 7401 Katy Frwy, 713-681-8000. The family will receive friends following the service in the Foyer.
