My dear sister-mamas.....Im feeling kinda sappy tonight and missing my babies terribly so I will apologize now for being so long-winded...I hope this little story of mine will help some of you who are having relationship issues with your soldier(s). I dont know whats going on but all Ive been able to think about today is how tumultuous and strained my relationship has been (or was) with my son over the last 4yrs. He was arrested when he was 21 and he literally hated me at that point but I still paid the $1000 surety bond to get him out. We talked after that but very little. It really got bad a few months before he left for BCT. The man Im with now, whom Ive been in love with since 5th grade moved here to Ky from NY to be with me. My son was living with me at the time, packed all his stuff and moved out the night before Adam got here. On his way out the door, he told me I had random dude syndrome and that he would never respect me as his mom. To him, he said, I was just some old fat chick that tried to raise him but miserably failed!! After about 3hrs of non-stop crying and vomiting, Im not sure if I fell asleep or passed out from exhaustion. The ensuing months werent a whole lot better. He told me that he did NOT want to see me before he left the MEPS station either. The night before he was set to leave, I called him and to my surprise, we talked for almost 2hrs. I still went to MEPS the next day and he came up and hugged me. He thanked me for never giving up on him no matter how hard or how many times he tried to push me away. He started crying while apologizing for all of the nasty and hurtful things he said to me. He asked me if I would forgive him one day and I told him there was nothing to forgive...he was my son and no matter what he always will be and I will always love him to the moon and back. He kissed my forehead, asked me to please not forget to write to him, hugged me tight and walked down the hall with the rest of the new inductees. He has since found my AIT pic and asked if he could have it. He now has it in a Flag photo frame and laughs at his buddies whove never seen it before. They talk about how hot that chick is and his reply is Dude! Thats my mom and she could kick your a$$!!! That is all. Sorry again fir being ling and boring.
