My doctor made a suggestion for shaking up my metabolism--she recommended having an egg day. She said that if I have been eating healthy and my weight loss plateaus, I can try having one day of eating nothing but eggs for the entire day (nothing with them or on them--just eggs). If scrambled or fried, fried in coconut oil, not butter or olive oil. It seems odd but I seem to remember something about a chemical compound in eggs that has something to do with metabolism. Anecdotally, I can also say that switching things up dramatically almost always helps when things slow down. Im going to be interested to see the outcome. Im eating nothing but eggs today, just to see. At this point, I kind of thought Id heard of everything! (She had a few other interesting suggestions Ill try another time.)
