My dream If only I am given the opportunity, is to secure a land about the size of two HDB estates. What I will do is to undevelop that place and recreate the 1970-1980s eras Singapore scene and atmosphere. The purpose of this project is to allow the current generation of Singaporeans to trace back and have a reminisce of their past and as well as for the future generations to have a better understanding and feel of Singapores rich heritage. My plans are as follows; 1. Recreate and rebuild at least 4 old HDB slab block type of flats, 99.99% identical to as they were accordingly to their original design and specifications with 0.01% difference being the age and absense of decay in them. (Former Blk 28 and Blk 79 Toa Payoh, Blk 1-5 Upper Pickering Street SIT flats). Every fixtutes and facilities that makes them qualify as a vintage HDB estate should also be present. E.g.(Mosaic tiles on staircases and lift landings, Vintage Elevators, Dragon Playground, Sandpit Playground, Stone chairs and benches etc) and perhaps even businesses such as provision shops, coffeeshops, barbers, salons, etc. 2. Rebuild vintage malls with original design and floor plan and try to secure tenants that sells vintage goods. Atmosphere of the mall should be identical to the old eras. 3. Recreate phased out public transportation. Non air con buses built according to original design and specification. Leyland and Mercedes-Benz double deckers, HINO and Nissan Diesel single decks. 4. Street scenes. Old road markings and paintings, traffic lights. If only the plan come true, the undeveloped would definitely be a true attraction of Singapore.
