My end of the softball year state of the league address: Thank you - TopicsExpress

My end of the softball year state of the league address: Thank you to the city of Eastlake, Eastlake Little League, Joe Cooper especially, my right hand man Joe Strogin, all of our teams (most weve ever had using one field!), and most of all our players and managers; without you this league couldnt exist. To Happy Moose (Jimmy Tsilianidis), thank you for your support the last couple years. To SPC Sports (Jesse Temple), thank you for your care and support to me and this league. To our umpires and USSSA, thank you for always supporting us and many times going out of your way to care for me personally, the field, and the league. To the players that have helped me get the field ready, thank you. And last, but certainly not least, thanks to my wife Jessica, who continually puts up with me being at the field watching a sport I love; thank you, I love you! This was one of our best years; I think the level of competition there for all teams, especially in the fall for the mens. Great playoff games! I try to match up teams to their level to make things as even as possible. I tried to accept all teams and not turn anyone away, which kind of complicated things in the summer. Next year, I will limit the number of teams in the summer to avoid bye weeks and increase the likelihood of a competitive league. We certainly need a mat at home plate. The rest of the park needs a facelift as well. Considering the residents of Eastlake turned down a levy that will reduce some employees, Im not sure of the capacity of maintenance that the city will be able to provide. Ill be sitting down with the city and field directors to go over a plan. Our players may be asked to help out. My goal is to have a monster reverse raffle with loads of giveaways, gift baskets and cash, hopefully in February. Details of that will be set up by the end of the year. Dont forget about the SnowBall Tournaments in January (10th for mens, 17th for Coed)! This is a charity event that supports Relay For Life. It will include a chili Cookoff and a couple other things that will be announced after Thanksgiving. Dont miss out on the best outdoor winter tournament around! Any constructive suggestions for the league next year, please let me know. Thanks again! See you soon!
