My entry for Day 28 of Ronnies original Opera Challenge: favorite trouser-role aria is, in fact, my favorite aria from a trouser role -- Non temer dun basso affetto. There is a version of this aria for the trouser role of Calbo in Rossinis Maometto Secondo, but what we will hear here is the aria sung by Neocle in the later re-worked opera, Lassedio di Corinto, which is something of cobbled together from parts of Maometto Secondo and parts of Rossinis re-working of that opera for the Paris Opera, Le siege de Corinthe.
