My experience with Obamare website. According to their records, I am dead. Despite their paying me social security each month. Despite my drawing a pension from McClatchy and KR Inc. And now to prove I am alive, I have to send copies of a couple of documents to the Health Insurance Marketplace office in London, Kentucky. Here is the long I logged onto the HealthCare.gov web site. Got in. No problem. Listed all my information and that of my wife. Everything went smoothly until I got to the part where they had to verify my identity. Despite having social security numbers, my phone number, my email, et all, I got a message that said I needed to call a number to verify my identity. That number was Experian, according to the lady who answered. I gave them my reference number. The young lady said there was a problem, that I was coming up as deceased. I asked if they were looking at perhaps my fathers records, since we share the same first name. She said no, that she also had my middle name, which was different from my deceased fathers. She also said this was happening sometimes. So what do I do> She said called the Social Security Administration and gave me a telephone number. I called and got a recorded message that the Social Security Administration, because of the government shutdown, was not in the office doing work. I said, to the recorded message, that last I heard the government was no longer shut down as of this date, Oct. 23, 2013. Anyway, I went back to the HealthCare.gov and opened up a live chat with Tami. Tami was very nice, but she could no help beyond giving me a telephone number for Experian. I called that number again. I again was told I was dead. I assured them I was not. They said to call Experian, the credit service that listed me as dead. I said I thought I was talking to Experian. Lady said no, they were just the identity verification phone service. She gave me Experians telephone number. I called it. It was the Social Security Administration again. The message said the SSA was closed became of the government shutdown. ARGH!
