My father went to Franklin Square Hospital on Wednesday morning. By Friday evening, he had a urinary tract infection. Hospital nursing staff didnt notice. We had to tell them to do a culture. They didnt get the results back until Saturday morning. He was released several hours later to a rehab facility with an order for antibiotics for 6 days. I wish someone could explain to me why these hospitals are like this - how nothing is done to penalize them for their negligence. I bet if they didnt get reimbursed when patients are harmed, this would end. There truly is no excuse for this. If staff did what they are supposed to do and required to do, this would not happen. I dont know if there is a clean, decent hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. But if anyone knows of one, please let me know so that should I need to go somewhere, I will go there.
