My favorite part about English grammar has always been the punctuation. I have to confess to my 7th grade English teacher Mrs. Hargrove that I dont always get it right. I never dreamed when I sat in her class that every week of my life I would have to write and prepare sermons and lectures. With that being said, I dont always get the punctuation marks right. I do the best I can so please dont critique me too harshly. I have found in the study of God that sometimes in life God gives us question marks. That is, we dont always no which way to go or which way to turn. At other times He gives us periods. Periods are safe! A period directs us incrementally, each step at a time. Often in a sentence the period will be preceded by the lovable comma. When God uses commas he does so to teach us multiple things at a time. I think my favorite has always been the exclamation mark! These come when our lives are the most exciting. As i sit behind my desk today preparing to deliver yet another sermon to a congregation that i love, I wanted to remind those of you who may be having to endure the question marks of life, that God always has a period. You may not know which way to turn, but hold on there is a period coming. Maybe after God teaches you patience with the question marks, God will be pleased to give you the exclamation!
