My first blast of shameless self-promotion was a recent clip of my trio breathing fresh life into an old standard. Heres one my instrumentals, Icebreakin from my 5th album LONG WAY FROM HOME. Originally written many, many moons ago for Albert Collins to record (he passed away before it could be followed up on) the arrangement eventually became my tip of the hat to Lonnie Mack. Filmed in 2009 during my decade-long self-imposed political exile from the U.S. The audio is from the cameras mic so its a bit rough. The venue was one of my favorites. The band played in a downstairs area with most of the crowd above us, which is visible during parts of the video. The guitar is the Modbird, a prototype of my design built by the bassist who is also playing one of his own designs, the Rocket Revenger.
