My first cover story for Runner’s World. Couldn’t be more - TopicsExpress

My first cover story for Runner’s World. Couldn’t be more psyched it’s November Project, the category-defying, Boston-born, free fitness/running tribe. The initial word count was to be 1,500, a short inside feature. It soon became clear the group was something special and deserved more. The end-result: a 3,900-word cover piece, with multiple sidebars, a 1,200-word companion article, and some 15 supplemental interviews for RW’s iPad version. It was a beautiful act of evolutionary symmetry. Two years ago, NP was born in a Boylston Street bar by two former collegiate rowers looking to stay fit during the grim winter months without having to pay for it. They committed to show up for each other, hail or shine. For a while, it was just them, a couple of silhouettes tackling the early-morning steps at Harvard Stadium, but a potent mix of social-media savvy, ridiculous charisma and enthusiasm, and word-of-mouth, has since exploded into a seven-city (and growing) tribe that sweats zany joy everywhere it goes. It’s truly insane. And truly worthy of this amazing cover. Congrats, boys, it’s been an honor.
