My first customer of the day today came in with a friend to shop. - TopicsExpress

My first customer of the day today came in with a friend to shop. When they walked in, I greeted them, as I do everyone when they come into the store. I told them about our sale that was going on and let them meander around for a bit. After maybe 5 minutes I went over and asked if they were looking for anything in particular. One of the girls asked her friend to tell me, as I noticed tears welling up in her eyes. The friend said we are looking for a dress for a funeral. The girl that was tearing up then said to me, Im burying my brother tonight...I immediately, out of no where just hugged her. I felt like I needed to. I held her and let her cry. I came home after work and just was browsing through my Facebook and came across this video. It really is just a simple message. In todays world I see so many younger people taking advantage of the people in their lives, especially the ones that are your number one supporter, the ones that dont judge you, the ones that will love you no matter what, the ones that are your biggest fan. But reality is, things might come to an end for that person(s) out of the blue. That is life. But I challenge all of my friends, family, acquaintances, strangers, etc to think about how you are treating these people who are your biggest fan, many times it being a parent or a sibling. Now I dont know anything about what happened to my customers brother and wasnt going to ask, but even if it may not be this sort of situation, I challenge all of you to cherish the relationships in your life. If one is semi broken or even broken, fix it. A lot of times people dont realize who really cares about them, so tell them. Let your guard down, show respect and love, and endure every ounce of that relationship, because you could get a phone call saying that person is gone. And they cant come back.
